We Have a Shipping Date!
over 4 years ago – Wed, Mar 04, 2020 at 05:52:15 PM

I have just received word from my factory consultant that the heat transfers (tagless labels) are being placed. Pockets will be sewn this weekend and they are promising to ship to me by the end of March.  I will turn them around as soon as humanly possible!!! This means you will be lounging in your Shelfies in April. Yay! I am so excited! I've spent the last 2 days getting the Shopify site up and running to sell the remaining inventory online. I'm so encouraged. I feel awful that you have been waiting for your Shelfies for so long. The light is at the end of the tunnel!

The Cutting is Complete!
over 4 years ago – Mon, Feb 24, 2020 at 06:41:40 PM

Hello Shelfie Shoppers! The fabric has all been cut and the tagless labels are being placed. Lana is working hard to make sure that our factory understands exactly how to build the shelf bra portion of your Shelfies before sewing starts. They made her a sample and the cups were sewn in inside out. Sigh. So, they are doing another one. It's a bit of a brainer because the cups are a thing molded cup which have a definite inside-out and right side-in direction. The inside layer of the shelf bra must be sewn so that when it lays against the body, the cups are in their natural position instead of popped to the inverted position so they lay correctly and the seams are all away from the skin and towards the next layer of the garment. It's quite a complicated construction, but once they get it, they'll be off to the races. I'm really hoping for a March ship date!

Stay Cozy,

Joanne

Still Chugging Along!
almost 5 years ago – Fri, Jan 10, 2020 at 10:07:25 PM

Hello All!

Dropping in to tell you that 4 of 6 styles have been cut. The factory has somehow run out of dark grey fabric. I am scrambling to get more sent to them ASAP. The vendor currently is out of this color as well, so I am hunting for alternatives. I have two samples heading my way within the week and will get more fabric to the factory just as quickly as humanly possible while taking care to maintain quality and coziness. I will pop back in to let you know when sewing begins and then to report an actual ETA on your long awaited Shelfies!

The Fabric Knives are FINALLY Cutting!
almost 5 years ago – Thu, Dec 19, 2019 at 08:40:06 PM

Well, here we are eight weeks after the last update where I said we were within a week of cutting fabric, and just this week, the cutting table is full of little Shelfie Shoppe bits that are going to be sewn into the coziest clothes you've ever owned! The waiting has been unbearable for me. Things have just moved so slowly. The factory owner ended up in the hospital and then was very weak as he recovered from his illness. And many other small delays have befallen the process. I asked for an "out of factory" estimate, but he wants to hold off until the new year to give me that date. My consultant, Lana, who has been an invaluable God-send in this process, estimates a ship date in February as, apparently, bay area factories slow down production over the Chinese New Year celebration and then hit the ground running afterwards. As soon as I have an out of factory date, I will let you know what it is. And as soon as the garments hit my doorstep, we will work nonstop until we have every last preorder fulfilled. I am so, so sorry about the delays and am incredibly grateful for your patience and support! Have a magical, cozy Christmas, a New Years filled with family, fun, and possibility, and I will be back to update with more information as soon as I have it.

About to Cut Fabric!!!
about 5 years ago – Thu, Oct 17, 2019 at 07:35:34 PM

Hey Shelfie Shoppers!

This is so exciting! We are within a week of cutting fabric at the factory! Much of the recent delay has been waiting for a response from my pattern maker who is in transition and difficult to reach. We have completed all of that interaction and are now ordering markers for the factory to use to cut fabric. I think we will be putting knife to fabric within a week and then you'll see your Shelfies 6 weeks after that. This has been one of the most trying experiences of my life. I have learned so much and my patience, perseverance, and persistence  has been tested to the limit. I so appreciate all of your support and know that this process has tested your patience, too. It looks like we'll be shipping mid December. Thanks for checking in!
